How to choose a monitor filter

This category stocks monitor filters from 17" to 49", including ultrawide variants. If your monitor has a visible bezel around the panel, choose the standard filter mounted with strips or slide mounts; if there is barely any bezel, choose the magnetic 3M™ COMPLY™ variant marked as frameless. Also check the aspect ratio filter - the same diagonal in inches is sometimes available in several formats (16:9, 16:10, 21:9), and each needs a different filter.

I have a 21:9 ultrawide monitor - will I find a filter for it?

Yes, 21:9 ultrawide is part of the range - narrow the list with the Aspect ratio filter on the right. The condition is a flat panel: 3M™ filters are rigid, flat sheets designed for flat screens, so we do not recommend them for curved monitors regardless of aspect ratio.

I work with two or three monitors - does each one need its own filter?

Yes. Each filter is cut to the exact size and aspect ratio of one panel, so a multi-monitor setup needs one filter per screen - even if the monitors are the same model, it is worth ordering the right quantity up front.

How is the filter attached to a monitor with no bezel around the panel?

Frameless (edge-to-edge) monitors use the magnetic 3M™ COMPLY™ system: a thin metal strip is stuck to the edge of the housing once, and the filter itself holds on magnetically, coming off in a second whenever you do not need it. That is a different mounting than on framed monitors, where the filter slides onto plastic clips at the sides.

Can I use a standard filter rotated 90° if my monitor is in portrait orientation?

We do not recommend it. The microlouvres in a standard filter narrow the viewing angle in only one axis, so rotating a filter designed for landscape use will not give the same protection in portrait. For monitors mounted in portrait orientation we carry a separate line of filters designed for that orientation - choose the model listed as portrait, not a standard filter turned by hand.
